Craixen's ears twitched slightly. "Hey, vine guy. Do you hear that noise?"

"Hm? What?" Augustus had, of course, been zoned out. It was the closest thing he got to sleep these days. If Craixen hadn't been about to attack Hazel, why'd he seen... oh, no, wait, he was talking to someone now. And it was Craixen. "Hear... what?"

It came again, still distant, still quiet.

"Oh. That."

"Whaddaya think it is?" Craixen asked, sniffing the air.

"Dunno." Augustus replied, still deep in thought.

It came a third time, a bit closer. With it came the sound of trees rustling, barely audible. Nothing about it was familiar, at least, not to Augustus.

"We'll probably have to kill it." Augustus muttered. "Whatever it is."

"Maybe it's hungry? I have sweets!" Craixen giggled, axe in hand.

"Sweets?" Augustus echoed, gaze switching to the axe in Craixen's hand. This thing really was damn crazy.

And then came the noise a third time, so close it shook the ground, and even the molten ocean seemed to stir, its eerie scarlet glow intensifying.

"T-T-The heck was that?!" Hazel squeaked, looking around.

Grace had awoken due to the noise, and the ground shaking. "Wh..What?"

Craixen had stood up now, her axe in both hands. "It must be REALLY hungry, huh?"

"Hungry? The hell? What's going on?" Amethyst murmured, looking around.

"I'm assuming you heard the noise." Augustus muttered, eyes set on the jungle.

"Oh, no, I just happened to wake up in the middle of the night. Of course I heard the noise."

"Can it never be peaceful here?" Grace muttered.

"Probably not." Red replied, nervous. The heck was going to come at them?

When it showed up, of course, no one was surprised. Except it was... rather demonic looking. It was about the size of a small house, with eyes dotting its long, spider-like limbs that glowed molten and stabbed through the trees. The entire thing was an unusual shade of green other than its red-hot legs, and it opened its large, large mouth to reveal several rows of teeth.

"That's.. new." Augustus remarked, laughing to hide his fear. It wasn't very convincing.

"Oh gosh.." Grace murmured, stepping back.

"Oh, hi there! How are you today?" Craixen giggled.

"Okay, that's more or less the biggest mutant on this Island I've ever seen." Amethyst remarked.

Its many eyes stared at the group, and then, all at once, about six or so of its countless limbs went flying at the group.

Before one of its limbs could hit Grace, a familiar shadow-like sphere had surrounded her. Grace simply sighed. She should be dead. The sphere moved her away from the fight, however.

Craixen was a different story, jumping over the limb and cutting it with her axe, all while laughing.

Amethyst and Augustus were fighting as soon as the odd, gargantuan best began to strike. Fire and vines did manage to cut off the limbs, but eerily enough, even those seemed to have minds of their own, twitching spastically and trying to make their way towards Hazel, who could barely move thanks to the chaos earlier that day. Red managed to strike it down in time.

Grace sighed as she watched the fight. The sphere she was trapped in floated over the lava.

Craixen was having way too much fun, cutting anything that went near her.

Eventually, there were no limbs left to cut, burn, or brutally rip off with vines. The creature dropped dead, bleeding out onto the ground.

The first hint of dawn could be seen on the horizon, eerie on the molten sea.

"Ugh. I'm exhausted." Augustus muttered, practically collapsing onto the sand. He needed to sleep. Not that he could sleep. He couldn't.

"That was fun." Craixen giggled, sitting down on a rock.

The shadow sphere put Grace back down onto the beach, vanishing.
Grace sighed. Everyone had seen that, no doubt...

"What was that?" Hazel asked Grace, managing to drag herself over. "Is that, like, a power of some sort? Pretty cool." There was, however, the slightest hint of suspicion to her voice.

"...I don't lie, so...it isn't one of my powers." Grace sighed once more, sitting on the sand.

"Then what is it?" Hazel asked. "D'you have, like, some sort of magic item? Is it some random thing that randomly happens...?" She was curious, to say the least.

Meanwhile, King was pacing around, muttering about how Paula had used the Island to "spawn disturbing ambominations unfit for his sanctuary".

"Does he ever... just... not do that?" Amethyst muttered.

"He's King." Augustus pointed out, still laying down on the sand.
